What to Expect

What to Expect

  • What's a service like?    Our Sunday services are an hour to an hour and 15 minutes long.  We sing hymns, pray, hear from God through Scripture readings and a sermon, and receive Holy Communion.  We are a liturgical congregation, which means we follow the order of worship Christians have been celebrating for almost two thousand years.  Our Wednesday Evening Prayer services are about 20 minutes long and feature sung and spoken prayers in addition to a Scripture reading or two.
  • What's the music like?     On the first and third Sundays of the month at 10:45am worship music is led by the Revive Praise Band.  The other Sundays are primarily led by the organ or piano.
  • How do people dress?     We have casual sweaters and jeans, polos and khakis, dresses and suits with ties, and more.  Your presence with us is more important than what you wear.
  • What about my kids?     Families with young children worship at both the early and late services.  We welcome the energy and enthusiasm of children in worship.  A staffed nursery is available for children up to age five for those who would like to make use of it.
  • Can I take communion?     We welcome to receive the Lord's Body and Blood those who are baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and believe that Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, is truly present in, with and under the forms of bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation.
  • How can I get connected?      As soon as you enter the main doors by the sanctuary, immediately to the right you will see the Connect and Serve Board.  On that board lists all of the different ministry opportunities at Peace Lutheran, as well as an e-mail address for more information.
