Disaster Relief Warehouse

In partnership with the NALC, Peace Lutheran is home to a Disaster Relief Warehouse to store materials for communities and congregations across the country who have experienced a natural disaster. The warehouse at Peace will store resources for immediate and long term recovery for those affected, but the warehouse needs to be filled with Disaster Relief Kits.

We’re asking the community to come together to fill the warehouse with these kits and resources so that we are ready to help communities impacted by future natural disasters. Other Disaster Relief Warehouses have been emptied after Hurricane Ian, so the need is even greater now.

Churches, organizations, and individuals can help us put together Disaster Relief Kits by filling buckets with the necessary flood relief kit items (list below). You can pick up a bucket(s) to fill at Peace, or you can purchase the items without picking up a bucket, and then filled buckets or kit items can be dropped off at the church during open hours, or by contacting Al Reml at (405) 229-4307.

Financial donations are also welcome, and the full amount will be used to purchase items to fill the warehouse. Please include a memo that the donation is for Disaster Relief Warehouse’.

How to Help

Disaster Relief Kits

Items needed for a flood kit:

  • 1 jug bleach (1/2 gallon or smaller)

  • 2 large trash bags

  • 1 roll paper towels

  • Comet or scouring cleanser

  • Pine Sol or liquid cleaner

  • Scrub brush

  • Gloves (one pair each): rubber, leather, cotton

The warehouse will also store additional relief items for personal, school, and miscellaneous relief.

These lists can be found on this document. If you are purchasing/giving any of those additional items, please make sure it is clearly marked that they are not for a flood kit.

For any questions or help, please contact Al Reml at (405) 229-4307.

We look forward to partnering with churches, organizations, and other community members on this project. Please use the flyer linked below to promote this opportunity to help.

We plan to share how your donations are being put to use in communities around the country, and how we can continue to serve those affected by natural disasters.
